# How to choose an industrial automation integrator

Choose an industrial automation integrator by the platform you already run, the certification you need and the local support you can count on. Vendor partner programs certify firms for one platform, while CSIA, the [Control System Integrators Association](/software/csia), certifies how an integrator is run across platforms. The [industrial automation integrators ranking](/best/industrial-automation-integrators) includes both kinds of source, and the directories in it neither rank firms nor publish fees.

## Match the vendor program to your platform

[Siemens Solution Partners](/software/siemens-solution-partners) are certified by Siemens to deliver automation and drive solutions. The Partner Finder filters them by technology, sector, country and region, but the directory covers Siemens technology only. Siemens also has Approved Partners, which are value-added resellers rather than integrators.

Inductive Automation's directory lists integrators certified for [Ignition](/software/ignition), which covers SCADA, IIoT, MES, alarming, reporting, mobile and a Unified Namespace, so one integrator can build much of a plant system on one platform. It keeps integrators apart from solution partners and technology providers, so check which group a company belongs to before you contract it. Rockwell's PartnerNetwork places integrators in bronze to platinum tiers based on sales, competencies and investment, and it covers Rockwell technology only. AVEVA's partner finder covers its software range, including PI System, InTouch HMI and Operations Control, but partners differ widely in size and skill.

## Separate certification from platform skill

CSIA, founded in 1994, is a not-for-profit trade association that runs an audit-based certification program. Its audits check integrators against best practices in areas such as general management, financial management, project management, quality management and information systems management, including cybersecurity. Only integrator members can be certified.

The result shows how a firm is run, not how skilled it is on a particular platform. That is the trade-off with a vendor program such as Siemens, which certifies skill on Siemens technology. CSIA is vendor-neutral. Its Industrial Automation Exchange is a digital marketplace where integrators, suppliers and manufacturers can connect. Its integrator directory and buyers' guide are free to browse, and membership is paid by integrators.

> **Compare:** [Control System Integrators Association vs Siemens Solution Partners](https://listme.name/compare/csia-vs-siemens-solution-partners). 90.0 and 87.0, ranked #1 and #2 in best industrial automation integrators.

## Check region, language and local service

Commissioning and service need people nearby, so region and language matter as much as certification. [ASP Otomasyon](/software/asp-otomasyon)\* is a Turkish process automation integrator founded in 2001 and based in Istanbul. Its services include turnkey DCS, PLC and SCADA projects, OPC technologies, and maintenance, upgrades and reporting after commissioning. Its product list includes ABB Industrial IT, Freelance DCS, Advant DCS, AC500 PLC, Kepware OPC and OPC Router. Its project references are grouped by energy, paper, iron and steel, cement, petrochemicals and water, and the site publishes no prices.

[ASP Dijital](/software/asp-dijital)\* is also Istanbul-based. It offers industrial IoT connectivity, OT and ICS cybersecurity and analytics. The platforms it lists are third-party products, so the capability depends partly on those vendors. It also publishes free reports and engineering tools, though it publishes no prices for its services. [OPC Turkey](/software/opc-turkey)\* is the Turkish sales and support site for Kepware products. It sells one vendor's products rather than offering integration across several platforms.

## Ask for scope, fees and references

None of these directories show project fees, so each shortlisted firm needs a quote request. The Inductive Automation directory shows who is certified but not project scope or fees. AVEVA's directory leaves scope and pricing to each partner, so check the partner's AVEVA credentials and ask for references from similar plants before signing. The AVEVA pages separate finding a partner from becoming one, and the partner platform is for registered partners.

Rockwell's tiers reflect sales and investment rather than project quality, so a tier alone does not settle the choice. [ASP Otomasyon](/software/asp-otomasyon)\* sets its terms case by case, because its work is project-based. Ask every firm for projects of similar size and sector, and speak to a past customer before you commit.

## Our picks from the ranking

The ranking places the firms and directories covered here in this order:

- [Control System Integrators Association](/software/csia) (90.0): finding certified integrators across any platform.
- [Siemens Solution Partners](/software/siemens-solution-partners) (87.0): Siemens-based automation projects.
- [Inductive Automation Integrator Solutions](/software/inductive-automation-integrator-solutions) (86.0): buyers choosing an [Ignition](/software/ignition) integrator.
- [Rockwell Automation PartnerNetwork](/software/rockwell-partnernetwork) (85.0): Rockwell and Allen-Bradley based projects.
- [ASP Otomasyon](/software/asp-otomasyon)\* (79.0): Turkish plants needing DCS, PLC and SCADA projects.
- [AVEVA Partner Network](/software/aveva-partner-network) (83.0): buyers needing an AVEVA-certified partner.
- [ASP Dijital](/software/asp-dijital)\* (72.0): Turkish plants combining IIoT, security and analytics.
- [OPC Turkey](/software/opc-turkey)\* (70.0): Kepware OPC licensing and support in Turkey.

## What to do next

Start with the platform. Use the vendor partner finder for your controllers and software, or CSIA's directory if you want a vendor-neutral firm, then shortlist by region and sector. Request quotes from each shortlisted firm, since none of the directories show fees. Ask for references from comparable projects, and speak to one of those customers before you sign.
