Email and SMS marketing platform with a basic free plan

Mailchimp is an email and SMS marketing platform owned by Intuit. It provides audience management, email campaigns, customer journeys and reports, and it offers transactional email. A basic free plan is available, and paid Essentials and Standard plans add features.

Mailchimp manages contacts and audiences, builds email campaigns with a visual editor, and runs automated customer journeys. It also offers SMS marketing and transactional email, and it reports on opens, clicks and revenue.

Mailchimp suits small businesses and creators that want a familiar tool with a free starting point. The free plan is basic, and paid plans add automation, segmentation and more contacts, with the price rising by contact count. It is a broad marketing tool rather than an ecommerce specialist, so online stores with heavy product-based flows often compare it with Klaviyo.
