Subscription suite with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Microsoft 365 is Microsoft's subscription office suite, with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, plus OneDrive storage and Copilot features. Its desktop apps run on Windows and macOS, and Word, Excel and PowerPoint also run free in a browser with a Microsoft account.

Microsoft 365 bundles Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and OneDrive under one subscription. Copilot assistance appears across the apps, and files are shared through OneDrive and SharePoint. The suite suits organizations that already run on Microsoft accounts.

The desktop apps are the main reason to pay, since Word, Excel and PowerPoint run free in a browser with a Microsoft account. Subscription plans cover individuals and businesses, and Microsoft's support pages describe what each plan includes. Compared with Google Docs and LibreOffice, it has more desktop features and admin controls.
