End-to-end encrypted cloud storage with apps and a free 5 GB plan

Proton Drive is an end-to-end encrypted cloud storage service from Proton, with apps for iOS, Android, Windows, macOS and the web. The free plan includes 5 GB.

Proton Drive stores files with end-to-end encryption, and Proton says it cannot read them. It has mobile apps for iOS and Android, desktop apps for Windows and macOS, a command-line tool and a web app. The site also offers secure online documents and spreadsheets, and it positions Drive as an alternative to Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive.

The free plan includes 5 GB. Drive Plus costs $4.99 a month for 200 GB. Free accounts can share files of up to 5 GB, and the site says you need a paid plan to share larger files. The service suits people who want encrypted storage and are willing to pay for more space and larger shares.
