3D modeling software for architecture, interiors and design

SketchUp is a 3D modeling application made by Trimble for architecture, interior design and product work. It is sold by per-user subscription in Go, Pro and Studio plans, and it runs on the web, on iPad and on desktop.

SketchUp is built around push-pull modeling, which lets people draw a shape and pull it into volume in a few steps. The site positions the Go plan for essential 3D design on iPad and the web, with premade furnishings and materials, and higher plans add desktop features and team management. The 3D Warehouse provides a library of ready-made models.

Plans are paid per user. The vendor lists the Go annual plan at $10.75 per user per month, billed annually. Schools can get SketchUp for free with a Google Workspace for Education or Microsoft Education account, and it works on Chromebooks. SketchUp is quicker to learn than Blender, but it charges for each seat.
