Free, open-source to-do manager that runs in the command line

Taskwarrior is a free, open-source to-do manager that runs from the command line and is released under the MIT license. It is installed from Linux distributions, and Homebrew and MacPorts cover macOS. The project says Windows is supported only through the Windows Subsystem for Linux.

Taskwarrior manages a to-do list from a terminal. The project publishes packages for Ubuntu, Fedora, Arch Linux, openSUSE, FreeBSD and OpenBSD, and Homebrew and MacPorts cover macOS. The code is in a public Git repository under the MIT license.

Taskwarrior suits people who work in a terminal and want a task list that fits into shell workflows. Windows users need the Windows Subsystem for Linux, which adds setup. Compared with Vikunja and Super Productivity, which are also open source, it trades the graphical interface for speed in the terminal.
