About listme.name

What listme.name is, who runs it, how the rankings are produced and why every score, criterion and connection to the publisher is stated openly.

Last updated Oct 10, 2026

listme.name is a directory of ranked lists and side-by-side comparisons of apps, software, web services and books. Each list answers one question, such as which password manager, note-taking app or programming book to pick, and shows the order, the scores, the reasoning and the facts behind it.

What you will find

  • Ranked lists for every category, with a short verdict per product, what it is best for, and a table of the features people actually compare.
  • Product pages with price model, platforms, open-source status, strengths and limits, where the product ranks, and the date its facts were last checked.
  • Alternatives and comparisons generated from the same data, so a product page, a list and a comparison never disagree.
  • A blog with guides on choosing software and explainers on the ideas behind it.
  • Optional accounts to save products and rankings. Signing in is never required to read anything.

Who runs it

listme.name is a project developed by Yunus Emre Vurgun, who also builds and works on some of the products listed here. Those products are marked with an asterisk everywhere they appear and are listed on the disclosure page. The rule that decides where they rank is published in How we rank.

How the content is made

Research and drafting use AI tools. Product facts are taken from vendors' own pages and public repositories, and each product shows the date its entry was last reviewed. Scores and verdicts are editorial judgments against criteria stated on each list; they are not benchmarks and not user ratings. Prices, plans and platforms change, so treat the vendor's page as the final word and tell us when something is out of date.

Corrections and suggestions

Found a mistake, a missing product or a better criterion? Use the contact form or write to hello@listme.name. Corrections are checked against the vendor's page and published with the next update.

For machines

Every page has a plain Markdown version (add .md to the address), the data is available as JSON at /api/v1/index.json, and /llms.txt describes the structure for AI agents. All of it is free to read and cite with attribution.
