About Google Chrome
Chrome runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS and ChromeOS. It signs in to a Google account to sync bookmarks, history, passwords and open tabs. Built-in protections include Enhanced Safe Browsing, a Safety Check and a password manager, and Chrome updates itself automatically.
Chrome shares its core code with the open-source Chromium project, so Brave, Edge and Vivaldi use the same engine. Google's own additions, including Gemini in Chrome, sit on top of that base. Chrome itself is not open source, and extensions are installed from the Chrome Web Store.
