About ksnip

ksnip takes screenshots and provides annotation tools, and it can pin screenshots in frameless windows that stay above other windows. On Linux it supports X11, Plasma Wayland and GNOME Wayland. On newer GNOME releases and in Snap builds, screenshots go through the desktop portal only, which limits what the tool can do there.

OCR support comes through a plugin on Windows and Linux. Global hotkeys work on Windows and X11 only, according to the repository. ksnip is licensed under GPL-3.0, and the project publishes RPM, DEB, APT, Snap, Flatpak and AppImage packages for Linux, plus a zipped executable for Windows and a macOS disk image.
