About Collabora Online

Collabora Online edits text documents, spreadsheets, presentations and drawings in a web browser, and several people can work on the same file. Its code is published under the MPL-2.0 license. Collabora says the server is meant to be integrated into your own infrastructure, and for large deployments it offers the COOL Controller, which scales the server with Kubernetes. A separate edition runs on Chromebooks.

Collabora Office is the desktop and mobile side of the family. The desktop app runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, and the mobile apps cover iOS and Android. Collabora Office Classic is a long-term supported edition based on LibreOffice. The Development Edition of Collabora Online is free for testing and home use, while business use is a per-user subscription. Teams that only need a free browser editor will find Google Docs simpler to start with.
